Mauritius is a beautiful, world-in-one-island slice of paradise. Its very name of conjures up images of tropical luxury and stupendous extravagance.

Ensuring the nature

The island is loaded with historic sights, cultural diversity, geographic variation and almost limitless activities to distract you from the daily grind of beach and pool. But perhaps its single biggest asset is the relaxed charm of its warm and welcoming people. While in many destinations famed for cobalt-blue seas, white sandy beaches and luxury hotels, you may eventually find yourself wishing for something to do besides sunbathing and swimming, it’s often hard to know what to do next in Mauritius.

Black River Gorges

The Alexandra Falls viewpoint is found on the central plateau. It is a part of the Black River Gorges. To arrive at the View Point, you have to get to Plaine Champagne, going towards ‘Grand Bassin’, and look out for the sign post of the viewpoint. And there is also a wide green grassy area where children can run and play while you admire the view.

A Fulfilled visit of Island

A world away from the shores of the north, Mauritius’ western wonderland is the nation’s most diverse coast. The bustling tourist hub of Flic en Flac may not be to everyone’s taste, but the treasures that lie just beyond will satisfy even the pickiest holidaymaker. A veritable swatch book of lush greens and light browns, the area of Black River has scalloping sandy bays that dimple the arable farmland.

Chamarel and Central Plateau of Mauritius

Known throughout the island for its hushed bucolic vibe and cool breezes, Chamarel is a hidden hamlet tucked into the western hills. It’s well-known for its excellent eating scene and we also love it as a stop en route to/from the Black River Gorges National Park. For tourists interested in learning about life on the island beyond the sand and sun, there are a few worthwhile attractions hidden among the gridiron – the best is Eureka, a charming plantation home and museum. Visitors looking for retail therapy will also enjoy an afternoon of snooping around the local markets and factory outlets.
