The River Yangtze is the longest river in Asia and the third longest in the world. It flows for 6,300 kilometers from the glaciers on the Tibet Plateau .The river is the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country. It drains one-fifth of the land area of the People’s Republic of China and its river basin is home to one-third of the country’s population. The Yangtze is also one of the biggest rivers by discharge volume in the world.
River Yangtze Characteristics:
The River Yangtze plays a large role in the history, culture and economy of china. The people in China use the river for irrigation, transportation, industry, sanitation, etc. The three gorges Dam on the Yangtze River is the largest hydro-electric power station in the world. The river originates from several tributaries, two of which have claims to be the source. After entering Hubei, the River Yangtze receives water from a number of lakes. The largest of these lakes is Dongting Lake, which is located on the border of Human and Hubei provinces, and is the outlet for most of the rivers in Hunan.
River Yangtze Bridge:
The bridges and burrows across the Yangtze River carry rail and road traffic across China’s longest and largest river and form a vibrant part of the country’s transportation infrastructure. The river cleaves China proper from west to east, and every major north-south bound highway and railway must cross the Yangtze.
Due to changes in the description of the source of the Yangtze, various sections of the river have been held as distinct rivers with different names, the river has four sectional names in Chinese: Tuotuo, Tongtian, Jinsha and Chang Jiang. The river stood as a major geographic barrier dividing northern and southern China.
River Yangtze Restaurant:
Fangweng Restaurant in River Yangtze is located in China, about 12km north of the city of Yichang, near Sanyou Cave. The restaurant is in the Happy Valley of the Xiling Gorge, an especially scenic stretch of cliffs, caves and park land located around the area where the Chang Jiang River flows into the Yangtze. The entrance to the Fangweng Restaurant is an apathetic grey brick building, but at the far end of a narrow concrete bridge, the restaurant caves into the cliff, the floor hanging several hundred feet above the ground.
Walking into the restaurant in the River yangtze and down the steps, one will come to a natural “cave lobby”. Rightward, a 30-meter-long plank road has been built along the cliffside. It leads to another natural cave, which has been transformed into a dining hall.
Part of the dining hall hangs out of the cave, where some dining tables are placed. This is a place sitting high in the air, where the flowing waters can be watched from above. From this end, customers can view the flowing water of Yangtze River. For the daredevils, a bungee jumping platform is nearby.
