Kibber is located at a height of about 14,200 ft in a narrow valley on the summit of a limestone rock. Kibber is only 16 kms from Kaza and a bus service plies between these two places in summer. Kibber is a rather pleasant village with plenty of cultivation. The moment you get down you are greeted by lush green fields which look strikingly refreshing against the arid backdrop of lofty hills.
There are only 80 houses in the village. In Kibber, the remarkable feature about the architecture is the use of stone instead of mud or adobe brick used extensively in the valley. Even at this height, the village has plenty of cultivable land and Barley and peas are cultivated once in a year. Kibber village surrounded by limestone hills which are covered by snow in 5 months. Climate of Kibber village is very expectable during winter season. There is a heavy snowfall dropped in this village and this village is cut by the other place or district. The lowest temperature of this village is minus 30 degree which is record in 1996.

Parang Pass: Parang Pass (Parang La), situated at an altitude of 5,580 m above sea level, connects the Spiti Valley with other parts of Ladakh. The Parilungbi River flows on the Spitian side of the pass and the track runs on its side. There is a glacier about 3 km north-east of this pass. There are a number of crevasses, which make it difficult to cross.
Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary
This sign has a delightful message about some of the animals to be found in the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary in Spiti .
The Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1992, which spans over an area of 140,050 hectare of land. The elevation range of this sanctuary is 3,600-6,700 m above mean sea level. The vegetation here is sparse and have high medicinal properties. This sanctuary has been extensively surveyed by Prof. C.P. Kala for distribution of plants and their indigenous uses as established by the amchis – the practitioners of Tibetan medical systems. Eight rare and endangered medicinal plant species have been discovered by C.P. Kala from this sanctuary. Aconitum rotundifolium, Arnebia euchroma, Ephedra gerardiana, Gentiana kurroo and Dactylorhiza hatagirea are such threatened but medicinally important plants occur in this sanctuary

Tabo: Situated at the height of 3050 meters and on the left bank of river Spiti not far from Sumdo, Tabo is surrounded by high mountains. The thousand year old Tabo Gompa that was established by the painted stucco, the monastery has priceless collections of manuscripts and thankas.
Tso Morari Lake: Tso Morari, sometimes spelt Tsomiriri Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Ladakh region, is situated at an altitude of about 4900 m. This lake which is almost like an inland sea has a length of about 22 km and a depth of more than 30 m at the deepest point.
Yang Yud Gompa: It is located in a secluded narrow gorge of Kaza Nullah, around 8-km above Kaza. The head of the monastery-Lama belongs to Tibet. It is serving western part central Spiti.
Kungri Gompa: 10-km from Attargo in Pin valley Spiti River is crossed to enter the valley. Built around the year 1330 A.D., the Kungri monastery provides unmistakable evidence of the impact of the tantric cults of Buddhism as practiced in Pin valley.
Ladarcha: Ladarcha is the name of an open ground, beyond Kibber village, where a traditional trade fair use to be held in earlier times. Today the fair has become an epitome of Spitian culture and a way of life.

Train: Joginder Nagar Railway Station from the Udaipur.
Air: Nearest Airport is Bhunter and Jabbar Airport near Shimla from Kibber for shimla side.
Road: Accessible by road from Manali on the Manali Leh road, also linked by National Highway No. 22 via Shimla.
