Vivekananda rock memorial is one of the most famous Kanyakumari attractions for all the tourists. This memorial was built in the year 1970. The major objective behind the construction of the memorial is to give honor to the visit of the great spiritual guru Swami Vivekananda. Situated 500 meters away from the mainland of Vavathurai, it has a glow which traps anyone at first glance. It is believed that in the year 1892, the great spiritual guru Swami Vivekananda came to these rocks to meditate. Thiruvalluvar statue in Kanyakumari:

Thiruvalluvar statue is another one of the most famous attraction of Kanyakumari which was opened for common public entrée on the first day of the new millennium that is January 1, 2000. The statue is situated at a distance of 400 m from the city’s coastline on a small island rock. Its total height is of 133 feet. This statue is of the famous Tamil poet and saint Thiruvalluvar. The statue is located just near the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Both of these rocks are close to each other and one can easily access by a transport available from the mainland.

Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanyakumari:

Bhagavathi Amman Temple is one of the best sacred sites of Kanyakumari and is the temple of Devi Kanya Kumari or Kumari Amman (the virgin goddess). Also known as the Kumari Amman Temple, the Kanyakumari Temple is devoted to the goddess Devi Kumari Amman. The temple is of abundant religious importance and thousands throng the temple compound to pay their respects and seek the blessings of the goddess. The significance of this temple lies in the fact that it is a Shakti Peetha and legend has it that pieces of Goddess Durga’s body fell here during the great Shiva Tandav dance.
