Aizawl:

Aizawl is the capital of the state of Mizoram. Aizawl has a mild, sub-tropical climate due to its location and elevation. It is located in a picturesque setting on the ridges of hills at an altitude of 1132 m above sea level overlooking valley and hill ranges. Bara Bazar is the main shopping centre of Aizawl. Mizoram State Museum is located in the centre of the town at Zarkawt. This museum gives a good insight into Mizoram people’s traditions, culture and history. Durtlang Hills:

Durtlang Hills, to the North, are amongst the higher hills around Aizawl. Durtlang Hills offer a great view of Aizawl city. It is a hill resort and it offers a glorious view of the city. Other attractions near the hill are State Museum, Zoological Garden, Picnic spot and a Zoo.

Sibuta Lung:

Sibuta Lung is a memorial stone which is 20 Km from Aizawl town in the village called Tachhip.  This memorial stone offers a story of jilted love and lust for revenge.  It was erected about 300 years by the Palian chief.t is a huge rock awash with the blood of three people sacrificed by Sibuta was carried over a distance of 10 km from the Tlawng river.

Champhai:

Champhaiis present at an altitude of 1,678 metres above sea level and also one of the eight districts in the state of Mizoram. It offers a great view of Myanmar’s hill ranges.

Lengteng Wildlife Sanctuary:

Lengteng wildlife Sanctuary is in the eastern part of Mizoram. It is home to a variety of animal species including birds.  It covers an area of about 80 square kilometres.To the north of Lengteng Wildlife Sanctuary there is an Murlen national park which is also to be visited. The sanctuary has many vivid avifauna and second highest peak in Mizoram with a lush of greenery.

RihDil Lake:

RihDil is a natural lake around a kilometre long and 70 metres wide. It is in eastern Mizoram, crossing the border into Myanmar. Lunglei:

Lunglei is a town, situated in the south-central part of Mizoram state. It is the  second largest town in Mizoram next to aizwal. It has most spectular view like  Majestic hills, lush greenery and an ideal location that a state can offer.

Theiriattlang is a beautiful hill in Lunglei, Mizoram. From the top of the hill, the entire town of Lunglei can be viewed. It offers a great view of nearby valleys and hills. It is fully  surrounded by thick lush green temperate trees and bushes.

Waterfalls in Mizoram:

Mizoram is not only famous for its culture, surroundings, mountains, wildlife sanctuary etc. It is also known for its dazzling waterfalls. Vantawng is the famous waterfalls present in Mizoram.

Vantawng Waterfalls:

Vantawng is situated 30 kilometers away from the district of Serchhip in the state of Mizoram. It is the largest and highest waterfalls, compared to the other waterfalls in the state. The height of the waterfalls is about 750 meters. Because of its wild waters, a beautiful viewing tower has been constructed by the Tourism Department of Mizoram. By Air to Mizoram state:

Aizawl has a domestic airport and is well-connected to many cities like Guwahati, Imphal and Kolkata through regular daily flights. Flights to Dimapur and Agartala also operate from Aizawl.

By Train:

Mizoram is connected through its rail head in Bairabi in Kolasib District.

By Bus:

Mizoram is connected through National Highway 54 from Silchar, Assam. Mizoram State Transport buses ply regularly from Aizawl to Guwahati, Silchar and Shillong.
